Davy Crockett – The Alamo

It’s John Wayne as Davy Crockett as seen in “The Alamo,” a rare resin portrait bust from 1999, in new, unpainted condition.

Davy is the work of sculptor Rick Force, who crafts a spot-on likeness to Wayne in costume mini bust size. Roughly 1/10th scale, the bust

measures 3” tall x 2 ½” wide. It’s crisply cast in light aqua resin, with the few casting flaws re-sculpted in by Force.

Make no mistake, Davy is scarce, with only a handful ever cast back at the turn of the century. An offbeat oddity from a true talent not easily found today.
