Dancing Alien – Spaceballs

If you’ve seen the Mel Brooks’ movie, “Spaceballs,” then you know this performing creature. He’s the Dancing Alien, cane, hat ‘n all, a super-rare resin model from 33 years ago, ready to strut your way.

Produced in New Jersey by The Resinator, the Dancing Alien was sculpted lifesize by Terry Latimer, who creates a figure that’s the same scale as the movie prop, marching along in a highly animated pose. The model includes the Alien figure, his straw hat, and a 5” long plastic cane.

The kit is cleanly cast in solid white resin, requiring only light prep (sanding mold lines, fitting parts) prior to assembly. Once built, the critter stands approx. 8 ½” tall x 10” long x 4 ¼” wide, looking much as he did onscreen.

Back in the hobby’s early days, The Resinator produced many various models during their brief lifespan of 4-5 years, most of which saw very limited production. Their Dancing Alien is one of their rarest, completely unavailable for over 30 years now.
