They couldn’t take it with them, but you can… for a while.
Offered here is a wide selection of model kits (most of them quite scarce) once owned and begun by modelers who’ve passed. Often times over the last 30 years, surviving widows or family have come to Sassy’s with the remains of their beloved’s model collection. These are those kits. Classic plastic, vintage vinyl, and rare resin, all started to some degree or another by others.
All kits here are original kits – NO recasts – and all are complete kits unless indicated. If a part is broken, chipped, or missing, that is noted too. If boxes, box art, paperwork, or any extras are included, this will be indicated as well.
We’ve given kit specifics in the descriptions, but do not describe the current condition or amount of work originally done on any given kit. (i.e. both arms detached, small air bubbles puttied, etc.) Please inspect the photos and you’ll see for yourself. Contact Sassy’s with any questions you may have.
We’ve tried to depict each model as accurately as possible, often times attaching parts together with sculpting wax for photography, to give a better idea of the model built. However, there is always a photo showing the model parts as they are offered here. Sometimes, we also show a photo or two of the completed model, taken from another source (i.e. an online photo or magazine pic.)
Please know that all of the kits presented here are exactly as they came in to Sassy’s. (It’s quite interesting to us the way so many folks started a kit, then put it aside to begin another, never completing the other one started… go figure?) We did not glue back together any parts that were dislodged, putty any air bubbles, or repair/repaint anything – just the opposite. Meaning, if something wiggled loose during inspection, we left the part unattached for safer shipping.
However, all models are completely able to be restored and finished properly. We’ve actually reconstituted and finished nearly 200 of these Dead Men’s Models for customers over the last five years. Some examples are shown below.

If you’d like to have any of the model kits listed here professionally restored and painted, please inquire. We build models to last: pegging parts during assembly, weighting sections if needed, cleanly seam parts together, etc. And our painters are top shelf, always willing to finish a model exactly as you direct.
There’s only one of any given kit, so don’t delay. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.
We hope you find something you like!
